The Canes 1 group is a nearby loose and scattered cloud or group of galaxies. It spans over 25 degrees in the sky. Its distance is not very well known but estimated at about 14-20 million light years. This group of about 10 galaxies is rather loose and is clearly dominated by the two Messier galaxies M64 and M94.
